【大紀元2017年11月01日訊】（大紀元記者吳英編譯報導）美國紐約曼哈頓西下城地區週二（10月31日）下午，發生卡車駛入自行車道撞人事件，目前已知8人死亡，十多人受傷。紐約市長白思豪稍後在新聞發布會上，將之定為恐怖襲擊事件。

紐約警察局表示，嫌犯是一名29歲男子，他駕著租來的Home Depot卡車，在自行車道上衝撞騎自行車的人及行人，在車子撞上一輛校車後，他下車並亮出武器，隨後被警方槍擊腹部。

警方已逮捕嫌犯，並將他送到醫院救治。四名執法官員告訴CNN新聞，嫌犯喊著伊斯蘭教的口號。
