當季節裡的春夏秋相繼悄然飄逸，冬季出現，時光又無聲無息地帶走白日，帶來夜晚，冬夜於是誕生，寒冷便跟著從北地遷移而來，加上斜風細雨助紂為虐的結果，寒冷便步步高升，黑暗便逐漸加深……。
當然，它也帶來顫抖、呆板、驚怕、悽楚、沉鬱、雞皮疙瘩……。
彷彿來了妖魔鬼怪，青面獠牙的……。
彷彿來了凶禽猛獸，張牙舞爪的……。
彷彿落入了一個陰森的無人之境……。
彷彿落入了一個無助的逼窄狹谷……。
彷彿有聲音在呼喊：
「多麼需要溫暖！」
「多麼需要光明！」
「但願冬天趕快過去，春天趕快來臨！」
「但願夜晚趕快過去，黎明趕快來臨！」
「但願寒冷趕快過去，溫暖趕快來臨！」
「但願黑暗趕快過去，光明趕快來臨！」
只是冬天仍在，夜晚仍在，寒冷仍在，黑暗仍在。沒關係！很快就會過去的。冬天過了春天便來。夜晚過了黎明便來。寒冷過了溫暖便來。黑暗過了光明便來。……

In the Winter Night Hsu ChiCheng
When spring, summer and autumn of the seasons floated away silently, winter appeared, and time also carried day away without any sound, brought the night, the winter night thence arrives, chill will follow them moves from the north, moreover, for the result of maltreats by slanting wind and drizzle, chill will rise step by step, dark will deeper slowly…
Of course, it also brings shiver, stiff, dumbness, dread, misery, depression, gooseskin…
As if it appears the evil spirits, green-face and long-toothed…
As if it appears the fierce birds and beasts, bare fangs and brandish claws …
As if it falls into a funereal place of unmanned…
As if it falls into a narrow ravine of helpless…
As if there are sounds call:
“How need I want warm!”
“How need I want brightness!”
“Wishing the winter passes away quickly, the spring arrives quickly!”
“Wishing the night passes away quickly, dawn arrives quickly!”
“Wishing the chill passes away quickly, the warm arrives quickly!”
“Wishing the dark passes away quickly, the brightness arrives quickly!”
Only winter is here still, night is here still, chill is here still, dark is here still. Never mind! It will pass very soon. Spring will come here after winter passed. Dawn will come here after night passed. Warm will come here after chill passed. Brightness will come here after dark passed…@
