雪下了有好一陣子了吧，遠山、屋頂、岸灘，都積滿了白雪。近處的江上有漁人在垂釣。

孤舟蓑笠翁 獨釣寒江雪。

以前我讀柳子厚這首詩時，對詩意不甚了了，雪怎麼釣呢？而且漁人不事生計，跑到江上去釣雪幹嘛？何況雪飄落江中不就立刻融化了嗎？

長大了，才知道這是詩句的倒裝：「寒江雪中獨釣。」但不管漁人為了生計，忍受孤寂，在大雪紛飛的時候，仍須工作……。不管，此時此刻江中有人在垂釣，在事不關己的詩人看來，就充滿了詩情畫意。詩人信手拈來，已然成了千古名句。

Fishing Alone（獨釣）

I didn't really understand the meaning when I first read this poem by Liu Zongyuan. How can he fish for snow? If he makes his living by fishing, why would he come out to fish in the snowy river? And wouldn't the snowflakes melt as soon as they touched the river?
I finally understood that the words in this poem are reversed after I grew up: "Fishing alone amidst the cold river snow." But regardless of whether the fisherman has to stand for lonesome working in the snow for the sake of his livelihood, and regardless of whether there was really someone out fishing on the river at that time, the self-absorbed poet was indeed full of poetic insights.
