潑彩垂瀑(彩墨)

這個畫面我們用重彩來潑灑。畫前不預做規劃,墨彩流到哪裡便收拾到哪裡。要點是把這些個色塊、墨塊加以組合,使之成為一個「有機體」,成為一張理想的構圖。

為了使水不那麼快乾,且容易流轉,我們採用礬紙來表現。利用礬紙不吸水、不透水、不漲水的特性,充分的加以發揮,讓色、墨相互排擠又相互融合。

西蒙尼說過:「畫是無聲的詩,詩是有聲的畫。」畫和詩是協通一致的。所有詩人、畫家們都追求「畫有詩情;詩有畫意」,想來古今中外皆然。

Splashing Color Waterfall/ink and color painting

I splashed with heavy colors when I made this painting. I didn’t do any planning before I started the painting. I just let the ink and pigments flow as far as they wanted to go. So what I had to do was to bring all the patches of ink and color together, transform them into an organic whole and constitute a good composition.

I used alum paper to make sure that the water flowed easily and wouldn’t dry too quickly. Alum paper is water impermeable and will not absorb any water. This allows ink and pigments to fully blend and exclude each other.

“A Painting is a silent poem, and a poem is a speaking picture,” said the ancient Greek writer Simonides. There is an intimate connection betweean a painting and a poem. Poets and painters are pursuing “poetry in paintings, and paintings in poetry.” This has always been the case in both ancient times and today, and in both China and the West.@
