Jiuzhaigou.Sea.Legend Hsu ChiCheng

It was a sunny day, the sky was clear and boundless

I reach Jiuzhaigou

Genes fogs sprayed to me

From the legend-teller’s mouth

Walking in the dense fogs, I felt

As if into a dreamland

To my surprise, puddles of sea were mirrors

Formed of transparent water glazes

Calcified and with foreign matters precipitated

But the legend-teller said those were the broken glass

Of a goddess’s treasured mirror

What were beckoning me in the mirror

Were brilliant legendary stories

Coloured patterns

And wonderful views reflecting in the mirror—

Blue sky, white clouds

Hills and woods

What let me feel puzzled most

Were those brilliant legends

That kept pestering me

Even after I had stepped out of the dense fogs

Note: Jiuzhaigou is a famous scenic spot located in Minshan Mountains in the west of Sichuan Pro. Wate here is Specially clear and clean because it Is calcified and the foreign matters in it precipitated. There goes an old saying “No water is worth seeing after visiting Jiuzhaigou”. It is said a goddess once accidentally broke her treasure mirror, and the broken glass fell onto the ground and turned into sea. Each sea has a legendary story. Here the “sea” is, in fact, a lake,, because the aborigines long for the sea, they named them “sea”. @
