[迈克博士英语一角] “Used to”和 “be used to”

【大纪元2011年08月31日讯】在之前的文章中我介绍了used to的用法。其实好多同学同样在used to和be used to的使用上也存在一些问题。像之前提到过的一样，used to用于过去经常发生的事情。如例一。
　　
e.g. 1 – “I used to work in a bookstore.”
　　
这个句子的正确理解为：说话的人过去在书店工作。其实还暗指这个人现在已经不在书店工作了。
　　
而be used to却有着不同的意思——习惯于，如例二。
　　
e.g. 2 – “I’m used to waking up early.”
　　
这个句子的意思是：这个人习惯于早起。在这个句子中还暗指说话的人之前不习惯做这样的事情，但是现在习惯了（可能是因为不断地尝试最终习惯了）。因此引伸出下面例三的内容。
　　
e.g. 3 – “When I first started working the morning shift at the factory, it was pretty hard for me to get up early at first, but I’m used to waking up early now.”
　　
但请注意， be used to并不是都暗示适应某件事情或情况很困难。如例四。
　　
e.g. 4 – “I’m used to making more money.”
　　
例四中很明显没有暗示赚钱很困难这个意思。相反，句子却暗示了过去赚的钱比现在多，说话的人不满足于现在的收入状况。
　　
在句子结构上，请注意be used to后面可以跟名词短语或者是动词短语。如果使用动词短语，动词必须是现在分词形式（即动词+ing形式）。因为这里的to是介词，在介词后面的动词必须是现在分词形式。请看下面的例句。
　　
e.g. 5 – “He’s used to working long hours.” (正确)
　　
e.g. 6 – “He’s used to work long hours.” (错误)
　　
e.g. 7 – “She’s interested in learning more about computers.” (正确)
　　
e.g. 8 – “She’s interested in learn more about computers.” (错误)
　　
下面是名词短语在be used to后面的使用例句：e.g. 9 – “I’m used to a long, cold winter.”
