我非常荣幸地在此祝愿华裔澳洲人黄历新年快乐。黄历新年不仅是中华历法中历时最长、最重要的节庆日，也是澳洲夏季中一个值得珍视的佳节。

牛年的核心精神特征——勤勉、诚实和锲而不舍，这每一种特征都将帮助我们走出疫霾，恢复生息。

我在此还要向华人社区的成就和勃勃生机报以谢忱。你们是成就澳洲多元文化的重要组成部分，没有你们，这个国家简直不可想像。

作为澳洲工党领袖，我祝愿华裔澳洲人在牛年里身体健康、事业有成、吉祥如意、幸福美满、诸事顺遂。在历经2020年的种种挑战后，愿你们的新年庆祝象征着美好一年的来临。

LUNAR NEW YEAR

It is with great pleasure I wish Chinese Australians a happy Lunar New Year. Not only is it the longest and most important festivity on the Chinese calendar, it has also become a cherished fixture of the Australian summer.

Among the core themes of the Year of the Ox are diligence, honesty and persistence. Every one of these is a value that will stand us in good stead as we emerge from this time of pandemic and begin the recovery.

I would also like to acknowledge the success and vibrancy of the Chinese community. You are such an important part of the success of Australia’s multiculturalism that it is simply impossible to imagine this country without you.

As Leader of the Australian Labor Party, I wish Chinese Australians good health, success, luck, happiness and prosperity for the Year of the Ox. After all the challenges of 2020, may your celebrations be a joyous sign of better times to come.
