百合与猫（彩墨）

洋百合的名称太多了，什么铁炮百合、姬百合、香水百合……等等。一般人实在认识不了那么多，平凡的我们，只要在看到它们时惊呼一声：“啊！好美！”便够了。

妻从花市买回来一束洋百合，有着红黄相间的色泽，散发出浓郁的香气。虽则弄不懂这束百合花叫什么名字，却颇适于瓶插。摆在客厅电话机旁边，还真是赏心悦目呢。

征得妻的同意，连瓶带花一起拿到楼上去画它一画，配上一只猫，在百合花丛底下打滚儿，也别有一番情致。

There are too many names for lilies. There are an Easter lily, a Polyanna lily, and a perfume lily, etc. Most people aren’t familiar with so many lilies. It’s enough if we ordinary people see one and exclaim, “Wow, that’s really gorgeous!”

My wife brought home a bouquet of lilies from the flower market. There was a mix of reds and yellows, and they had a heavy, sweet fragrance. Although I never figured out the names of these lilies, they were perfect for a flower arrangement. We put them next to the telephone in our living room, and they were truly a treat for the eyes.

After having my wife’s permission, I took the vase and flowers upstairs so that I could paint them. I added a cat rolling in the middle of the lilies, to give the scene some extra interest.＠
