百合與貓（彩墨）

洋百合的名稱太多了，什麼鐵砲百合、姬百合、香水百合……等等。一般人實在認識不了那麼多，平凡的我們，只要在看到它們時驚呼一聲：「啊！好美！」便夠了。

妻從花市買回來一束洋百合，有著紅黃相間的色澤，散發出濃郁的香氣。雖則弄不懂這束百合花叫什麼名字，卻頗適於瓶插。擺在客廳電話機旁邊，還真是賞心悅目呢。

徵得妻的同意，連瓶帶花一起拿到樓上去畫它一畫，配上一隻貓，在百合花叢底下打滾兒，也別有一番情致。

Lily and Cat/ink and color painting

There are too many names for lilies. There are an Easter lily, a Polyanna lily, and a perfume lily, etc. Most people aren’t familiar with so many lilies. It’s enough if we ordinary people see one and exclaim, “Wow, that’s really gorgeous!”

My wife brought home a bouquet of lilies from the flower market. There was a mix of reds and yellows, and they had a heavy, sweet fragrance. Although I never figured out the names of these lilies, they were perfect for a flower arrangement. We put them next to the telephone in our living room, and they were truly a treat for the eyes.

After having my wife’s permission, I took the vase and flowers upstairs so that I could paint them. I added a cat rolling in the middle of the lilies, to give the scene some extra interest.＠
