I miss my eastern motherland

Every year every month every day

February 18 is Chinese lunar New Year

Like our Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day

I cherish my parents and relatives

I miss my girlfriend

A couple of sweethearts divided by the Milk Way

The tears shed from my eyes

To the ground and sea, heart and face

Heavenly father asks me

My child, what do you want to say﹖

Motherland, motherland, motherland…

Thousands and thousands of people

Celebrate the spring festival day

(The Chinese lunar New Year correct name is “Spring Day”)

This is a “Pig’s year” pig play

Everywhere flowers and pleasure

Everyone wears a happy face

When they meet each other and say

“Gong Sees Far Choy, Gong Hay Gong Hay”

(In Chinese that means “good luck to you”)

Oh! My dear motherland

I don’t know which day

I can come back to your bosom

Many things I want to say

So satisfied job with good life I have today

No one understands my pain

I cherish those friends when I was a child

We were classmates swam and played

Although I’m proud to be an American citizen

But they always remember my yellow face

They always remind me

Don’t forget your girlfriend and motherland

I dream that will be one day

I should comeback to motherland
