新闻集团（News Corp）周四公布了澳洲前100所私立学校的官方榜单，新州的悉尼文法学校名列榜首。
与这所男校同时进入前100名的还有许多学校，其中悉尼的私校占了四分之一。
这是有史以来最详细的全澳前100名私立学校的排名。排名评分根据一系列复杂的指标进行，包括全澳英语与数学统考（NAPLAN）成绩和ATAR（澳洲大学入学排名）成绩、校园设施、师生比例和资金水平，以及课程种类、体育项目和课外活动等。
新州最好的10所私校目前都是单性别学校。不过，位于贝尔维尤山（Bellevue Hill）的克兰布鲁克学校（Cranbrook School）明年将开始招收女生，这是该校107年历史上的首次。
在新州所有上榜的25所顶尖私校中，只有四所是男女混校。
新州私立学校协会（Association of Independent Schools NSW）会长埃文斯（Margery Evans）对悉尼有这么多学校跻身澳洲最佳学校之列并不感到意外。
“新州私立学校的教育质量非常好……而且非常多元化，”她说。
“悉尼外郊的学校发展迅速，因为那里的人口密度大，人们希望获得能满足孩子需求的教育。”
