無題（彩墨）
我們畫畫有一個習慣──拿到紙就畫，從不管它的大小。但是有時會有例外，那就是給學生臨摹的畫稿。當作「課徒」用的畫稿都裁成一定的規格，好保管，也好整理。
正因為要有統一的規格，因此在大量裁紙時，就裁成一定的尺寸，存放備用。
這張小畫就是如此，隨便抽出一張備用的空白紙，拿筆隨意塗一下、抹兩下，構成一張畫。不管好壞，不管成敗，每天畫一些，自我期許，自己向自己交待，不是無所事事，不是白白的過一天。
學生常問：「這麼多構圖的畫稿，靈感哪裡來？」我誠實的告訴她們：「畫多了，自然會就有了。」

Unnamed/ink and color painting
I have a habit when I’m painting-I start as soon as I pick up a piece of paper, and I never pay any attention to its size. But I sometimes make exceptions. I let my students use some paintings as models, and they have to be cut to certain specifications. It’s easy for me to keep them and take care of them.
Because these paintings need to have unified specifications, I make a few backups when I am cutting large amounts of paper.
This small painting is one of these standard models. I can pull out a backup piece of blank paper, pick up a brush, take a few strokes, and compose a painting. It doesn’t matter whether it’s good or bad, or whether it’s a successful painting or not, but I always do some painting every day. I consider this my responsibility; I don’t want to stay idle and waste each day.
My students often ask me: “Where do you get the inspiration for so many paintings with different compositions?” I honestly answer them: “I paint a lot, so I naturally have many paintings.”
