【大纪元2015年02月19日讯】（大纪元记者怡舒综合报导）2月19日是今年的中国新年，一年一度民间最隆重的传统节日。大年三十，亲朋好友欢聚一起吃年夜饭、守岁，庆祝新的一年的到来。大年初一开始，人们会走访亲友，拜年祝福。
伴随着百年来华人移民海外，中国新年也日益受到西方主流社会的关注，西方各大媒体也纷纷介绍中国新年的文化习俗，和各种喜庆丰富的庆祝活动，海外也洋溢着过年的气氛，纽约今年还首次在中国新年放烟花。
据《国际商业时报》报导，中国新年对于中国人的意义等同于美国人过感恩节。华盛顿大学圣路易斯分校现代中国语言和文学教授陈蕾蒂（Lingchei Letty Chen）表示：“中国新年的意义主要是家庭团聚 ，在一年的始末，全家人从五湖四海赶回家团聚，欢聚一起庆祝，就像美国人过感恩节一样，也是家庭聚会并给予祝福和感谢。”
在庆祝2015年的中国新年里，《国际商业时报》还准备了一些英语的问候祝福语，海外的华人可以介绍给自己的洋人朋友。
