【大纪元5月9日讯】(大纪元记者世桑新泽西编译报导)1965年创立的联邦独立机构The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH)，在有关基金会McCormick Tribune Foundation 的资助下，现在赠给全美各地以及海外两千多个公共图书馆，公立私立学校，家庭学校以及特殊学校，军事院校一批免费的获奖图书。这批有15本书包括了西班牙语，主题为“主人翁书架”(We the People Bookshelf)，内容关于“成长为美国人”(Becoming American)，配备有招帖画，书签和其它推广宣传用品，协同图书馆协会之各个图书馆的惊醒和宣传以及相关活动，以便支持和丰富地区城镇居民们的文化活动。其中新州有53个地区城镇活动获得这项援助，如﹕Caldwell，Edison，Fort Lee，Montville，Morristown，New Brunswick，Nutley，Ridgewood，Trenton等。人们可以通过网页查到自己居住地区是否属于赠书之列﹕www.humanities.gov 。
这些书有内容丰富的故事，记载有美国移民在自由，正义和机会奋斗过程中成长经历的历史，是青少年了解过去继承美国传统文化以及成长为美国公民的最好读物。这批属于系列We the People program的丛书，有助于教师和学生以及大众了解美国历史和文化。主要书目﹕
