【大紀元2012年10月29日訊】大紀元新聞集團在澳大利亞南澳成立分社，發行阿德雷德版週報，首刊將於10月26日免費發行，發行量每週5千份，25個發行點覆蓋阿德雷德主要華人聚居地區，外加送報至近200家中餐館和華人商店，讓南澳有華人的地方就有大紀元。這是《大紀元時報》繼悉尼、墨爾本、布里斯本、柏斯之後，在澳洲營運的第五家分社。
阿德雷德分社社長張必光先生說：「作為大紀元報系的新成員，阿德雷德大紀元時報將一如既往秉承正義、獨立的精神，公正報導時事，並提供讀者更多與自己生活相關的本地信息，幫助大家儘快融入當地主流社會。」張先生堅持服務於大紀元時報11年，他說：「從99年開始，海外媒體報導中國大陸方面的新聞在慢慢地變化，對於中國的消息，海外的華人幾乎只能聽到一個聲音，特別是對一些敏感話題如對人權、信仰的迫害，這方面的報導基本上就沒有了。」
為了讓阿德雷德的華人有機會了解中國的真實情況，張先生他們購買墨爾本版大紀元報，義務把報紙分發到阿德雷德一些商舖、餐館、圖書館和購物中心。大紀元時報是2003年全球首先報導薩斯病疫情的媒體，領先全球三年關注毒奶事件，首家對Google退出中國等重大事件作出報導，使大紀元很快晉升為世界級主流媒體，特別是今年王立軍事件以後，大紀元對中國政局動盪的準確預測和分析報導，使大紀元成為世界中文媒體報導中國局勢的風向標。
在全球媒體日益萎縮、紛紛裁員甚至停刊的大環境下，大紀元逆流而上，一枝獨秀。目前，大紀元時報共有19個語種，全球近40家分社，記者站遍布60多個國家和地區。大紀元時報的發行量一路飄升，阿德雷德的大紀元讀者人數也不斷攀升。阿德雷德大紀元時報也在此時順勢而立，應時而生。阿德雷德現在每週發放5千份中文報，覆蓋阿德雷德市區及周圍地區，南及Flinders、Woodcroft，東到Marden，西至West Lake，北達 Salisbury 。
張先生表示此次創辦阿德雷德版，就是為了更好地服務於當地華人。「我們希望大家能看到一些真實的消息。除了國際上的、中國大陸的、還有香港、台灣發生的新聞外，我們也希望把本地發生的一些與華人有關的事情告訴他們，這麼多年，大紀元時報已經成了當地華人生活的一部分，阿德雷德大紀元時報也已開通當地廣告業務。」他最後還表示：「為了更好地服務於讀者，懇請讀者提出寶貴意見。並藉此機會感謝讀者們的支持與鼓勵。」

Given the limited independence of South Australian newspapers, the divergence from mainstream reporting heralded by the Epoch Times is most welcome.
