【大纪元2011年06月28日讯】（大纪元记者曾诚编译）法恩群岛（The Farne Islands）是英国诺森伯兰郡（Northumberland）外海的一组小岛和礁石群。共有15至20个或更多的岛屿，数字取决于潮流情形，分为内、外两组，分散在距英国本土海岸约2.5∼17.5公里处。法恩岛屿的平均最高点是海拔19公尺。其最邻近的岛屿是班堡（Bamburgh），邻近的海港是锡豪西斯（Seahouses）。
法恩群岛被英国国家信托基金 （英国保护名胜古迹的私人组织）辟为鸟类保护区。在温暖的月份，群岛是一个重要的野生动物栖息地，有约十万对海鸟在岛上繁殖，包括约36,000对海鹦、32,000对海鸠和2,000对北极燕鸥，以及夹心燕鸥、鸬鹚等。此外，约有6000只灰海豹栖息在这里，每年九月至十一月约有近1,500只幼仔出生，法恩群岛是欧洲最大的灰海豹栖息地。

长石岛上的旧灯塔是维多利亚时代以海上救险闻名的女英雄达林（Grace Darling，1815 年11月24日- 1842年10月20日）的故居。
格雷斯的父亲（William Darling）是灯塔看守者。她和老迈的父母一起生活在一个荒凉的法恩灯岛上。1838年9月7日凌晨，她在楼上的窗口守望时发现了在附近的小岩石岛旁一艘遭风暴搁浅、半沉的船（ SS Forfarshire）和其幸存者，由于天气太恶劣，从班堡无法派出船只救援，于是达林和她的父亲决定冒着自己生命的危险，在大风浪中划船营救了9人的生命。
