Testing their wireless network on the road – these researchers from South Korea’s Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute say they’ve created the world’s most advanced wireless technology.
韓國電子通信研究機構的研究員，正在馬路上測試他們的無線通信網路，並表示他們已經開發出世界上最先進的無線通信技術。
They call their fourth generation network LTE-Advanced and head researcher Park Ae-Soon says it is 40 times faster than the 3G mobile network being used.
他們稱他們的第4代無線網路為LTE-Advanced高階的長期演進技術，首席研究員朴尹申表示，它的傳輸速度比目前正在使用的第3代無線通訊網路快40倍。
[Park Ae-soon, Electronics Research Institute]:
“Users are able to watch high-quality content such as 3-D and high-definition videos on their mobile equipment while they walk. They can use the service anywhere and anytime.”

For example, it takes a 3G user six and a half minutes to download a 700 megabyte-video. This new 4G network takes only 9.3 seconds.

South Korea’s team needed five years and $53 million dollars to complete and test its new 4G network.
韓國的研究團隊需要5年的時間，及5,300萬美金資金來完成並測試新的第4代無線通訊網路。
LTE-Advanced can be interlocked with existing 2G and 3G networks, but the new technology won’t be rolled out until 2014.
這項高階的長期演進技術，能夠連結現存的第2、3代行動通訊網路，但是直到2014年，這項新技術才會推出。
The payoff for South Korea could eventually be an anticipated $400 billion in technology royalties.
