其中书名为《最简短的经济学历史》（The Shortest History of Economics）受到三位经济学家——巴萨内斯（David Bassanese）、布洛克瑟姆（Paul Bloxham）、卡恩斯（Jonathan Kearns）的强烈推荐。
据《金融评论报》报导，《最简短的经济学历史》的作者是雷伊（Andrew Leigh）， 现任联邦竞争、慈善及财政部助理部长及就业部助理部长。他曾担任澳洲国立大学经济系教授。
这本书通过经济学概念探讨了跨越几个世纪与大洲的历史、大富翁游戏的起源，讨论了犁的发明如何加深性别不平等，以及疾病如何塑造殖民主义。
卡恩斯曾为澳洲储备银行官员，现任Challenger的首席经济师。他说：“雷伊的这本书带我们开启了一个有趣的旅程，它向我们展示如何透过经济学的角度来观察人类历史和我们当前的生活。”
