如何阅读英语新闻的标题（四）

当你在英语新闻的标题上看到分号“;”时，其实代表了二件事情，也就是前后的主词是不同的。相反，“,”前后的主词则是相同的。

举例：HK leader finally quits; deputy to take over
香港领袖最后辞职；副首将接手。
HK leader finally quits; the deputy is going to take over

你可以看到分号;前后的主词是不同的，前面是HK leader，后面则是deputy。

举例：Mining Disasters Still Frequent in Mainland China; 27 People Missing
在中国大陆，矿灾仍很频繁；有27人失踪。
Mining Disasters are Still Frequent in Mainland China; 27 People are Missing

举例：600, 000 People Resign from the CCP; Jinan Television Interrupted to Broadcast “Nine Commentaries”
六十万人退出共产党；吉林电视台被插播《九评》
600, 000 People Resign from the CCP; Jinan Television is interrupted to Broadcast “Nine Commentaries”
