A 25-foot long whale, trapped off Scotland’s Shetland Islands.

The humpback whale was spotted on Thursday after it became tangled in a creel line used to catch lobsters and crabs.

Bad weather forced rescuers to postpone a rescue effort by divers to cut the ropes and free the whale.

[Ron Patterson, Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals]:
“As you’ll appreciate, putting divers in with something of this size can be a major problem. These are big animals and a flick from the tail could be very serious for any diver, so we shall have to take it very seriously before anybody goes in.”
