It’s an annual spectacle—the Taipei 101 fireworks bringing in the New Year. When the 101 story building was constructed in 2004, it was the tallest building in the world. Since then, every year Taipei 101 has held a premier New Year’s fireworks display.
一年一度的奇观－台北101的新年烟火。101大楼建于 2004年，是世界上最高的建筑。从那之后，台北101每年都会举行首屈一指的新年烟火施放表演。
The fireworks are now being installed on the building. This year the organizers are using new techniques to make the fireworks appear more three dimensional than ever before.
现正在大楼上安装布设烟火。今年主办方将采用新技术，使烟火的立体感比以往效果都要更好。
[Liu Jiahao, Taipei 101 Spokesperson]:
“Within 202 seconds, we will set off 30-thousand individual fireworks. This year we have made a breakthrough. You will see, cube shapes appearing on the walls, and coordinated 3D fireworks. This should create even more abundant excitement.”
台北101发言人刘家豪说：“在202秒内总共会施放3万发烟火。今年我们有一些突破。你会看到在墙上呈现出有方块的形状，搭配着做原来立体的烟火。这样会有很多更丰富的感觉。”
Like last year, this year’s display will use 30-thousand individual fireworks. It will be one and a half minutes shorter, but more intense. Larger external frames on the building will also allow fireworks to be set off at a broader range of angles, so they will appear more three dimensional.
如同去年，今年的烟火表演将会使用3万发烟火。时间会比去年短一分半钟，但会更精彩。大楼的大型外部扩充鹰架，也可以让烟火以更广的角度施放，所以他们会显得更立体。
[Liu Jiahao, Taipei 101 Spokesperson]:
“The frames are tall, they are higher than the walls of our external platforms, so they can fully put to use the horizontal angle. They can shoot up and of course they can even shoot fireworks downwards. So all the fireworks can be set off at very broad angles.”
台北101发言人刘家豪说：“鹰架特别的架高，高于我们自己在户外平台的墙面，所以它可以施展出平行，也可以往上，当然还甚至可以往下的烟火。所以整个烟火的施放角度，是非常非常广的。”
Along with Sydney, Tokyo and Hong Kong, Taipei will be one of the first fireworks displays to welcome in the New Year, 2012.
