畅怀（彩墨）
有时候，我喜欢跟学生们开这个玩笑，讲这个笑话──就说这天地间要化育形成这么一处风景，这些个山啊、河啊，至少要花个几亿年的时间来形成。就不要说山，单讲画中这些个树，至少也要百十年的功夫来成长吧。而我们拿起笔，沾一点墨、涂一些色，信笔挥洒，不消几分钟就完成一座山、一块地、一片水……──我们也可以像上帝一样创造化育喔。
听了咱们这种奇特的“谬论”之后，有些学生会微笑颔首，有些则表情严肃，不置可否。
不置可否就是“不完全同意”，难怪人家表情严肃。──想想：纸上的山水再怎么费心经营也是假的；纸上的花鸟再怎么漂亮也不会飞，更没有香气──假的怎么能跟真的做比较呢？
但是，我想说的是：纸上的山水、花鸟都是经过适当安排的，虽是虚构的，却绝对“美”过真实的山水花鸟。您说是不是呢？
Joy/ink and color painting
I sometimes like to play this game with my students: I asked them how long, how many millions of years, would it take to create this kind of scenery—these mountains and rivers? And if we don’t even mention the mountains, what about the trees in this painting? It would take over a century for them to grow. For our part, however, we can pick up a brush, dip it in the ink or paints, and paint and entire mountain, landscape, or body of water in only a few minutes. So our power to create is nearly godlike.
After listening to me talk about this strange “fallacy,” some of the students smiled and nodded, while others wore serious expressions and remained noncommittal.
Since their lack of comment signified that they did not agree fully, no wonder the students had serious expressions. But consider this: No matter how much effort is put into rendering mountains and streams on paper, they are still false.. And while flowers and birds in a painting are beautiful, they have no scent and cannot fly. How can we compare things that are false with things that are true?
However, when I want to get across is that mountains, streams, flowers, and birds on paper are the result of appropriate mental preparation. Although they are fictitious, there are absolutely more beautiful than real mountains, streams, flowers, and birds. Do you agree with what I’m saying?＠
