STORY:
Chinese pop artists from all over Asia walked the red carpet last Saturday at the Golden Melody Awards, just before the opening of the award ceremony in the Taiwanese capital, Taipei.
來自全亞洲的華人流行樂藝人，上週六在台灣首都台北所舉辦的金曲獎頒獎典禮開幕前，走上紅地毯。
Out of an entry pool of over 10 thousand, judges came up 23 awards. Karen Mok, Tanya Chua, Jay Chou, and Gary Cao won some of the top awards.
從超過1萬件的入圍作品中，評審選出23個獎，莫文蔚、蔡健雅、周杰倫、曹格贏得了其中的一些首獎。

[Gary Cao, Singer]:
“My teacher, Tu Huei-yuan, cannot attend the ceremony today, he is in Beijing and slightly ill, but I believe he is watching TV. Thanks to Rock Records, because back then, no one would dare to sign contracts with Gary Cao, but only Rock Records. Thank you.”
曹格說：「我的老師，塗惠源，今天無法出席這項典禮，他在北京，有點生病，但我相信他正在看電視。謝謝滾石唱片，因為那時侯沒有人敢與曹格簽約，只有滾石唱片，謝謝你們。」
Malaysian-born singer Gary Cao won for best male vocalist, while Singapore singer and song-writer Tanya Chua won for best female vocalist.
馬來西亞出生的歌手曹格，贏得了最佳國語男歌手獎，同時新加坡歌手與作曲人蔡健雅，贏得最佳國語女歌手獎。

蔡健雅說：「我想要感謝所有我的歌迷，因為他們不斷的支持，你們真的是我的力量，我會持續不斷的努力。並且我希望感謝上天帶我來到這個世上。」
Canto-pop star Karen Mok won best album for her album “LIVE is Karen Mok.”
廣東歌流行女星莫文蔚贏得最佳國語專輯獎“拉活…莫文蔚”。
[Karen Mok, Singer]:
“I don’t know if there will be another Mandarin album in the future, but even if this is my last album, I have no regrets. Thanks to Golden Melody Awards. Thanks to all the friends supporting me in Taiwan, thank you.”
莫文蔚說：「我不知道在未來是否還會有另外一張國語專輯，但即使這是我最後一張專輯，我都沒有遺憾。感謝金曲獎，感謝所有在台灣支持我的朋友，謝謝你們。」
Other winners include Jay Chou, who won best song for “Blue and White Porcelain,” and the Taiwanese band “Sodagreen,” who won best band.
其他的得獎人包括周杰倫，以“青白瓷”贏得最佳年度歌曲獎，還有台灣樂團 “蘇打綠”贏得最佳樂團獎。
The Golden Melody Awards is the most respected Chinese pop music awards show, and has been held annually since the early ’90s by the Taiwanese government.
金曲獎是最受尊崇的華人流行音樂獎，自從90年代初期由台灣政府每年舉辦。
