【英文说文解字】
各位读者好：
这是一则战争新闻，在战争中，“攻击”就是很重要的“结构字”，有很多的英文字汇，都具有“攻击”的意义，像是attack, assault, assail, raid, strike等。因此“空袭”就会常写成air attack, air strike, air raid。“空袭警报”的“警报”，也有warning, alert, alarm三种表达方式，所以英文记者写到“空袭警报”就可能是：air raid warning, air strike alarm, air attack alert。
一般“记者”会有reporter, journalist二种表达方式，“记者会”则会有news conference或是press conference二种表达方式。
-miss与 –mit都是表示 to send
再来谈missile为什么是“飞弹”呢？这就牵扯到-miss这个字根，-miss与 –mit都是表示 to send的意思。 所以emit=e-(out)+-mit(to send)，to send out所以是“发出”的意思，emission则是其“名词”形。transmit=trans-(across)+-mit(to send)，to send across所以是“传输”的意思，transmission则是名词形。permit=per-(through)+-mit(to send)，to send through，得到“允许”，才能够把东西送过去！名词形则是pemission。那么 missile为什么是“飞弹”就很容易理解了，“飞弹”就是送出去的子弹嘛！
-cept是to take的意思
那么为什么“intercept”是“拦截”的意思呢？inter-是between之意，-cept是to take的意思，intercept就是to take something between～从二者之间拿到某个东西，所以就是“拦截”，“拦截”就是在我方与对方之间，将某件东西以某种方式阻挡了下来。
以-cept造出字的还不少，像是except, concept, reception…等。except=e-(out)+-cept(to take)，to take out把某件东西拿走，所以是“除外”的意思。
concept=con-(together)+-cept(to take)，to take together～把某种特性的东西放在一起，形成“概念”。reception=re-(back)+-cept(to take)，to take back，把朋友带回家“接待”一番，deception=de-(apart)+-cept(to take)。
