茵夢湖（彩墨）
這是我心目中的「茵夢湖」。前些年，曾跟鄰居們去法國南部做一次深度旅遊十天。領隊帶我們到處去玩，一路上引經據典，把南法的「亞維儂」「土倫」「嘉德水道」「摩納哥」等名城及當地的人文逸事說得是如數家珍，引人入勝。最後再撥出一天半去遊瑞士。在介紹瑞士著名的日內瓦湖時，脫口說：日內瓦湖是就小說中的「茵夢湖」。
真是出乎我的預料之外──唉，太煞風景了。
茵夢湖其實是文人心目中的湖：清淺、小巧、幽靜、富詩意的美。湖中還植有荷花，男主角脫下衣褲走入湖中去摘荷花的情景歷歷在目；而現今我們看到的日內瓦湖，又寬又深，湖中泊滿了遊艇，聯合國總部就立在湖邊──美則美矣，就是欠缺那種淡淡傷感、悵然酸楚的文藝氣息──說茵夢湖就是日內瓦湖，這種說法，我自有我的皮裡春秋。
Immensee/ink and color painting
This is the way that I envision “Immensee.” Not long ago, I went with some neighbors on a 10-day in-depth trip to the south of France, and our tour guide took us to many interesting places. The guide gave us plenty of information in many stories about the places we visited. He gave us detailed accounts of such places his Avignon, Toulouse, the Camargue, and Monaco, as well as local stories and anecdotes, and it was all very fascinating. We visited Switzerland during the last day and a half of the trip. 12 viewing Switzerland’s famous Lake Geneva, our guide happened to tell us that Lake Geneva appears as “Immensee” in that famous novel.
The incredible scenery truly exceeded my expectations.
Immensee is a lake as a poet would imagine it: Clear water, a charming landscape, powerful serenity, and lyric beauty. Lotuses have been planted in the water of the lake. The scene in which the main male character in the book takes off his clothing and walks into the lake to pick lotuses kept appearing in my mind. The Lake Geneva that we see is broad and deep; there are boats on the lake, and the United Nations headquarters appears by the lakeside. It is truly a lovely scene, but it lacks that subtle sense of pain—that refined feeling of disenchantment and loss. So I have definite reservations about identifying Immensee with Lake Geneva.@
