We have a new development in the ongoing Samsung Group tax infringement indictment. Samsung Group head Lee Kun-hee has announced that he is quitting his post at South Korea’s largest conglomerate.
我們有正在發展中韓國三星集團逃稅起訴案的新發展。
Just last week Lee was indicted for tax evasion and breach of trust.
就在上週，李健熙因為逃稅與違反誠信罪而被起訴。
[Lee Kun-hee, Former Samsung Group Chairman]:
“I will step down from the Samsung chairman position today. I am saddened as there is still much to do and a way to go, but I will leave with all the faults of the past.”
前三星主席李健熙說：“今天我決定辭去三星集團主席一職。我很難過因為仍有很多事情要做，並且以後的路還很長，但是我將把過去所有的過錯一併帶走。”
In January a special prosecutor launched a probe into corruption allegations. That came after a former top legal executive at the group said some of its top management hid money and kept a slush fund to bribe politicians, prosecutors and officials. But the prosecutor found no evidence to support the bribery allegation.
元月份時，一位特別檢察官開始調查貪污控訴。是該集團一位前高階法律主管說，一些高階主管藏匿金錢，並且留置準備要行賄政治人物、檢察官與官員的資金。但是檢察官並未找到支持賄賂控訴的證據。
If found guilty on the tax evasion charge Lee could serve from five years to life in jail. South Koreans had divided opinions over Lee’s resignation.

[Han Shin, 39-year-old]:
“It looks like a punishment for the chairman. The leader could have resigned after Samsung reflected on its past and reformed itself.”

[Lee Sang-hoon, 51-year-old]:
51歲的李先生說：”It’s good timing to end his job. Samsung will be able to develop more.”
